Who we are

Cosmetic Acupuncture Australia operates the website cosmeticacupuncture.au. We can be contacted at cosmeticlabco@gmail.com.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you email us — about a clinic listing, a correction, a topic suggestion or anything else — we receive whatever you choose to include. That typically means your name, email address, and the content of your message. For listing enquiries it may also include clinic details and a practitioner registration number.

We use this information only to respond to you and, where relevant, to administer a directory listing.

Information collected automatically

This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard server request data as part of delivering and protecting the site — this may include IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages requested. This is handled by Cloudflare in accordance with its own privacy practices.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how this website is used — which guides are read, how people arrive, and which pages are difficult to find. This helps us decide what to write next and how to improve the site.

Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate geographic location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and referring source. Google Analytics 4 anonymises IP addresses by default and we do not use it to identify individuals.

We do not send Google Analytics any personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences or run remarketing. Data is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy, which may involve transfer and storage outside Australia.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_<id>) to distinguish returning visitors and measure sessions. Cloudflare may set essential cookies required for security and performance.

We do not set advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising networks on this site.

Opting out of analytics

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by:

  • Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
  • Enabling your browser's tracking-prevention or "Do Not Track" settings
  • Blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings
  • Using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts

Opting out will not affect your ability to read anything on this website.

Health information

We do not seek, request or knowingly collect health information about you. Please do not send us details of your health, skin or medical history — we are not a health service and are not able to advise on individual circumstances. If you send us health information unsolicited, we will delete it.

How we use information

We use the information we hold to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Administer and maintain directory listings
  • Verify practitioner registration where a listing is requested
  • Improve the content and accessibility of this website
  • Meet our legal obligations

Disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties except:

  • To service providers who help us operate the site — currently our hosting provider (Cloudflare), our analytics provider (Google Analytics) and our email provider
  • Where required or authorised by law
  • With your consent

Some service providers may store or process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards.

Directory listings

If you request a clinic listing, the details you provide for publication — clinic name, suburb, state, description, services and website — will be published on this website. Practitioner registration numbers are used for verification only and are not published.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We keep email correspondence only as long as needed for the purpose it was provided, or as required by law. Listing records are kept for the duration of the listing and a reasonable period afterwards.

Your rights

You may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
  • Ask us to delete information we hold about you
  • Withdraw a directory listing at any time
  • Make a complaint about how we have handled your information

Email cosmeticlabco@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

This website is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
