Experiences and outcomes differ considerably between individuals. Age, general health, sleep, stress, genetics, skin history, lifestyle and consistency all influence what any person experiences. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise, guarantee or prediction of any particular outcome.

Speak with a registered practitioner

Before beginning cosmetic acupuncture or any new treatment, please consult a registered practitioner who can assess your individual circumstances. This is especially important if you:

• Take blood-thinning medication or have a bleeding disorder
• Are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are trying to conceive
• Have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area
• Have recently had cosmetic injectables, fillers, laser, peels or facial surgery
• Have facial implants, a pacemaker or another implanted device
• Have any significant medical condition or are receiving other treatment
• Faint easily or feel uneasy around needles

Verify practitioner registration

In Australia, acupuncturists and Chinese medicine practitioners must be registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia and are regulated by Ahpra. You can verify any practitioner on the Ahpra public register. We recommend doing so before booking any treatment.

Research and evidence

Where we summarise published research, we aim to describe findings and limitations accurately. Research findings describe group results under study conditions and do not predict any individual's experience. Our summaries are not a substitute for reading the original sources, which we link where available.

Directory listings

Clinic listings in our directory are free placements. Inclusion is not an endorsement, recommendation or assessment of clinical quality. We do not rank, rate or compare practitioners. You should make your own enquiries and verify registration before booking.
